Asvik

about.

ASVIK is a demountable winter refuge designed to reintroduce ice fishing at Parc Bic through a lighter, more structured, and more environmentally respectful experience. The project combines industrial design, service design, and seasonal architecture into a flat-pack shelter system built for winter use.

first sketches.

The project began with sketch exploration around shelter, portability, and winter use. Early concepts tested different ways of creating a compact refuge that could feel protective without becoming heavy or permanent.

drawings & development.

The design was refined through form studies, dimensional drawings, and design objectives focused on transport, comfort, adaptability, and storage. These constraints shaped the refuge into a compact A-frame system.

prototype.

The refuge was developed as a flat-pack system divided into two assembly sequences: the platform and the cocoon. This structure allows the shelter to be transported, assembled, and stored seasonally with a clear construction logic.

outcome.

The final ASVIK refuge is a demountable A-frame shelter for 2-3 people. Its material system combines structure, insulation, textile protection, and compact storage into a seasonal refuge designed for winter activity.
